Schindler's List Theme

2 years of playing the violin has gone by so fast!!! I find it such an amazing adventure to learn to play the violin. For this special day I’ve practiced very hard to play for you the theme of Schindler’s List movie. I just love how Itzhak Perlman plays this beautiful piece. I can listen to it over and over. So you can surely believe that I enjoyed every minute and every hour of learning this piece.

My recording of Schindler’s List theme

I was very excited when I chose Schindler’s List theme for my 2 years progress video! I understand there is a lot of room for improvement, of course, since this is a very difficult piece. I think overall my intonation was OK. I did make some rhythm mistakes. But most importantly I think this piece needs much more vibrato but I didn’t manage to do it on the shorter notes. If I do that, it doesn’t sound very good. So I’ve only used vibrato for the longer notes. I also notice that it would have been better to play the piece slower. But despite all these working points, I am very happy with how this piece turned out. :-) I’ve learned so much from working on this difficult piece.
